Pelotas Basin Project Delivers Key Data Milestone

27.02.2026

Searcher is pleased to announce a significant data delivery milestone for its Pelotas Basin project. Final data for phase one is now available, alongside the delivery of fast-track data for phase two. This provides exploration teams with a crucial, expanded dataset for interpretation in this highly prospective deepwater frontier. The availability of this multi-phase data marks a pivotal moment in the project. It offers the first detailed and comprehensive view into the subsurface architecture of the region. Exploration teams can now begin evaluating key geological features and identifying potential hydrocarbon systems across a wider area with greater confidence. This achievement is part of a successful collaboration with our project partner, Shearwater, which has ensured the smooth progression of the acquisition phases. The momentum continues as acquisition advances, with the next phase of Fast Track data available in July 2026, the Pelotas Basin will be available in the upcoming bid rounds Cycle of Permanent Concession Offerings. The Pelotas Basin remains one of the most compelling underexplored areas on the Atlantic margin. Its significance is heightened by its shared conjugate margin with the Orange Basin, an emerging super basin of global importance. This connection underscores the region’s strong exploration potential. The newly available data is critical for companies looking to gain a competitive advantage in understanding the opportunities within this vast and promising region. We encourage interested parties to contact sales@searcherseismic.com to explore the newly available data and discover the opportunities waiting to be uncovered in the Pelotas Basin.
