Searcher Seismic, in conjunction with project partner Dolphin Geophysical, is pleased to announce the completed acquisition of the 1,845km2 3D SHarp BroadBand Multi-Client seismic survey in the Maud Basin South area of the Norwegian Barents Sea.
The Maud Basin South 3D Seismic Survey covers large areas of the margins and basinal part of the south Maud Basin which has been nominated for the 23rd Round.
High-end 3D seismic vessels; the Polar Duchess and the Sanco Sword were utilised for the acquisition and SHarp BroadBand technology has been applied to the data.
Country Manager for Searcher Seismic, Jan Gunnar Opsal said the high quality seismic 3D cube is the only one covering this area of the prolific Maud Basin province.
“Searcher Seismic and Dolphin Geophysical are confident that the enhanced quality of the new 3D data will contribute to identification of additional prospects in the future.
“To assist clients with initial acreage reviews, Dolphin Geophysical have performed high-end fast-track processing on board the vessel and full PSTM will be completed at the Dolphin UK processing centre,” Mr Opsal added.
A fast track cube can be expected in December and a final cube delivery in March/April 2015.
