Searcher Seismic in conjunction with project partner Seabird Exploration is pleased to announce that the Vampire Non-Exclusive 2D Seismic Survey (“Vampire Survey”) was completed on the 1st February, 2011.
The Vampire Survey acquired a total of 7,250km of long-offset 2D seismic data in the highly prospective Browse Basin, Australia with the primary objective being to provide direct well ties to the basins most recent drilling activity.
The secondary objective of the survey was to provide additional seismic coverage and well tie data to the sparsely explored open acreage immediately adjacent to the giant 14Tcf Torosa, Brecknock and Calliance discoveries.
This initiative has now been supported by the Australian Government who has proposed that the area be included as part of the 2011 Australian acreage release.
The data will be processed at Fugro Seismic Imaging in Perth, Western Australia and the full suite of deliverables are scheduled to be available in Q2 2011.
