Searcher Seismic Pty Ltd in conjunction with project partner Fugro Multiclient Services (FMCS) is pleased to announce that the Barrow Ultracube 3D reprocessing project is to be further extended northwards.
The Barrow Ultracube Phase 1 was completed in August 2010, and covers 8,739km2 in the highly prospective Barrow Sub-basin, Western Australia. The project merged nine multi-vintage 3D surveys from field tape with a full PSTM processing flow.
Following the commercial success of Phase 1, a further 5 surveys were added and merged, covering 3,490km2 to the south-west of the Ultracube (Phase 2) which cover highly prospective open acreage, due for gazettal in the forthcoming 2011 Federal Acreage release.
Phase 3 will extend the Ultracube northwards by 5,335km2 over the prolific “shelf-break” and will in total provide an invaluable regional dataset of nearly 20,000km2 of newly reprocessed 3D seismic to evaluate existing and future acreage opportunities as they become available over the prospective regions of the North West Shelf.
Phase 3 is also being processed at Fugro Seismic Imaging in Perth, Western Australia and the full suite of deliverables is scheduled to be available in Q1 2012.
