SH9602 Ultracube™ 3D Seismic Survey

Revitalising Exploration of the Helland Hansen High

The SH9602 Ultracube™ 3D Seismic Survey, covering 1,600 square kilometers, unveils previously untapped potential in data originally acquired by Shell in 1996. The survey illuminates the most intriguing segment of the Helland Hansen High, a region that has virtually remained unexplored since the 6505/10-1 exploration well was drilled in 1998. Flanked by the prolific hydrocarbon locales of Ormen Lange, Asgard, and Kirsten Field to the east and south.

A prominent feature of this project is the detailed imaging of Cretaceous basin floor sands, which display extensive lateral amplitude responses extending beyond the region explored by well 6505/10-1. These responses hint at a significant hydrocarbon potential ushering in a new realm of exploration possibilities. The data has undergone rigorous processing using state-of-the-art algorithms to ensure high-definition quality and immediate deployment. This revised dataset equips oil firms with a vital resource to reassess the potential of Helland Hansen High and pinpoint fresh exploration prospects.
