Quoll 3D Seismic Survey
Transforming Data Quality in the Vulcan Graben
The Quoll 3D Broadband Seismic Survey, situated along the western flank of the Vulcan Graben, is a survey that harnesses the latest in seismic acquisition and processing to crack open the secrets of this prospect-rich yet traditionally challenging data-quality region. Covering over 1,150 km², this cutting-edge survey utilises broadband technology at its finest, sharpening resolution and subsurface image lucidity, and painting a detailed image of the geological structures and sediment layers existing within the Vulcan Graben.
Meticulously executed with precision equipment aboard the Seabird vessel, M/V Aquila Explorer, this survey integrates Sercel Sentinel Solid Streamer technology and high-power Bolt Source apparatus to ensures optimal data acquisition, which is pivotal in disclosing fine-grained subsurface detail. Furthermore, the Quoll survey rectifies legacy data issues through superior imaging at all play levels, offering refined visibility of deeper structures, and serving as a critical tool for the detection of Jurassic, Triassic, and Permian formations.
