Enabling exploration in the exciting Orange Basin
The Orange Basin has emerged as a super basin of significant interest and potential following recent deepwater discoveries. Leading the charge in this dynamic region, Searcher has achieved groundbreaking accomplishments in seismic acquisition.
Building on our successful multi-client 3D (MC3D) seismic surveys within the Namibian Orange Basin, we have collaborated with Shearwater and NAMCOR on Phase 3 of our project. This phase involved collecting an additional 3,690 square kilometers of MC3D data, bringing our total coverage in the region to over 10,000 square kilometers.
Phase 3 of the survey took place across PEL 83, strategically connecting the datasets collected during Phases 1 and 2. This phase covers the eastern extension of the mopane discovery and reveals a range of sub-GDFTB Cretaceous plays and traps with distinct AVO control.
Our comprehensive data acquisition in the Orange Basin continues to provide unparalleled insights into the geological characteristics of this promising area. The integration of these extensive datasets enhances regional scale understanding, aids in prospect de-risking, and facilitates detailed field development imaging.
Searcher’s ongoing efforts in the Orange Basin reaffirm our position as a leading provider of geoscience data in frontier regions. We are confident this data will help you achieve your exploration goals.
