Northern Basins Prospectivity Study

Unveiling Hydrocarbon Potential in Papua New Guinea’s Frontier Basins

In collaboration with Discover Geoscience, Searcher has compiled the Northern Basins Prospectivity Study, providing the industry with a detailed understanding of the basins and hydrocarbon potential of the region unlocked through the Solomon Sea and Triok Seimsic surveys, covering the Cape Vogel, Bougainville, and New Ireland Basins.

The Northern Basins Prospectivity Study includes an assessment of the Sequence Stratigraphic Framework, with Chronostratigraphy harmonised with that from Searcher’s Gulf of Papua Prospectivity Study. It also encompasses Tectonostratigraphic Elements, Palaeogeography, Gravity & Magnetic Interpretation, Petroleum System Analysis, Regional Hydrocarbon Modelling, and a summary of Play Concepts.
