North East Oman 2D Reprocessing
Advancing Exploration with Phase 2 of Seismic Reprocessing in Oman
Following a successful initial phase of Reprocessing in the Sea of Oman in 2023, Searcher and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) of Oman have joined forces once more to continue unravelling the geological mysteries off the Quriyat coast of Oman, paving the way for enlightened exploration opportunities.
With Phase 1 focusing on the reprocessing of 4,100 line km of seismic data in Block 18, Phase 2 adds a further 5,000 line km within the adjacent Blocks 41 and 21, both of which are included in the current acreage licensing round. Reprocessing efforts have commenced with DUG Technology, with plans to utilise a similar modern PSDM processing workflow supplemented with diligent multiple removal processes, which achieved extraordinary uplift in imaging within the Block 18 Reprocessing Project.
