Searcher, in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum and Energy (DPE) and Larus Energy, has acquired the Nanamarope MC3D Survey, spanning approximately 1,850 km² across the offshore Gulf of Papua, with the objectives of evaluating and de-risking several prospective plays within the Mesozoic and Tertiary sedimentary sequences, and to resolve subsurface velocity contrasts.

The 3D survey, processed by EIF Geosolutions, utilises a robust processing workflow including extensive Q tomography and Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) to address the objectives, with the final survey proving pivotal in improving geological understanding of the sparsely explored area and de-risking the identified prospects.
