Equatorial Guinea 2D Reprocessing

Searcher's Seismic Reprocessing Revolution - Unlocking Equatorial Guinea's Offshore Potential

Searcher has commenced the Equatorial Guinea 2D Reprocessing Project, which includes approximately 8,500 km of regional offshore 2D seismic data from two input surveys.

The last 20 years have been relatively quiet for exploration offshore Equatorial Guinea, but advancing processing and imaging technology is breathing new wind and yielding an exciting exploration opportunity, with multiple proven oil and gas plays ranging from Cretaceous to Mio-Pliocene in hybrid structural and stratigraphic traps.

Modern processing technologies, including de-ghosting, Pre-Stack Depth Migration algorithms and Full Waveform Inversion, are allowing for significant uplift on vintage datasets to allow for confident de-risking on both low-hanging fruit and less well-defined plays. Reprocessing is underway with results expected approximately end Q1 2026, in anticipation of the Bid Round announced for April 2026.
