Bremen Aeromagnetic Survey, Germany
Mapping the prolific onshore North German Basin with magnetics
The Bremen Aeromagnetic Survey acquired by Sander Geophysics, covers almost 30,000 sq kms encompassing most of Lower Saxony in the prolific North German Basin.
Over 40,000 line kms of data were acquired in 2004-2005 at a line spacing of 1km x 3km.
The survey area incorporates the Langwedel-Holtebüttel and Rotenburg-Taaken gas fields, and other significant oil and gas reserves along trend from the substantial Gronigen Gas Field.
The complex intracontinental Permian-Cenozoic basins are influenced by multiple stages of rifting, subsidence and salt tectonics. The aeromagnetic data provides critical insights for imaging the crystalline basement, mapping the intrasedimentary fault systems, and contributing to the understanding of the basin evolution.
