Ireland’s second phase of the 2015 Atlantic Margin Licensing Round has seen 14 new licensing options awarded to 11 companies.

The recent awards follow those in February this year where eight oil companies were granted offshore acreage across 14 blocks.

The 2015 Round was notably one of the most positive in history, with 43 applications for Licensing Options received.

Searcher in cooperation with MAGE finished acquiring the Echidna Regional Broadband 2D Seismic Survey in July 2015 with final data in time and depth available for immediate delivery.

The survey comprises 9,038 km of long offset, regional well-tie 2D seismic and covers the Porcupine and Slyne Basins and the Goban Spur offshore Ireland.

A total of 30 E&A wells, approximately 80% of wells drilled in the rea, are tied by the Echidna survey.
