Ecuador MC 2D Reprocessing
Unlocking Ecuador's Offshore Potential with Advanced Seismic Reprocessing
Following the successful Rectification of over 26,000 km of 2D and 540 km2 of 3D seismic data in 2024, Searcher has commenced a Reprocessing Project on approximately 5,000 line km of 2D seismic across the offshore basins of Ecuador, a frontier region promising significant potential.
With successful discoveries next door in Peru and a growing database of geophysical data around the world, traditional interpretations of forearc basins are being challenged, with new hybrid contourite-turbidite plays and thermal maturity models hinting at massive untapped potential. These new plays can be derisked greatly with modern processing technologies, allowing explorers increased confidence in their quest to unlock the potential in this underexplored region.
