Pinatubo Broadband 2D Seismic Survey
Pioneering Exploration in the West Luzon Basin
The Pinatubo Broadband 2D Seismic Investigation covers 3,400 km of critical long-offset, broadband data, which unravels the mysteries of the West Luzon Basin. This extensive survey provides the first modern 2D seismic coverage in a well-formulated 10 x 20 km grid, laying the groundwork for unprecedented exploration of this unexplored region.
The Pinatubo 2D project is engineered to better define data that shapes major structural tendencies within the West Luzon Basin. Advanced acquisition and processing methodologies are employed in this survey, ensuring top-tier data quality that could notably expand the comprehension of geological formations and prospective hydrocarbon systems in the region. Not only does the project seek to map the physical infrastructure, but it also embarks on enhancing the imaging of deep-seated sedimentary segments and basement structures. This endeavour ultimately contributes to the outlining of potential hydrocarbon traps and reservoirs. The sophisticated processing techniques used warrant the data’s suitability for meticulous geological and geophysical interpretation. This exploration of the West Luzon Basin is a trailblazing expedition, offering priceless perspectives into the area’s geological potential.
