Offshore Peru 2D and 3D Seismic Rectification and Offshore Peru Well Atlas
Unlocking New Exploration Opportunities
In collaboration with PeruPetro, the Offshore Peru Rectification Project introduces a substantial seismic data enhancement that blankets the entire Peruvian coastline, encompassing approximately 49,400 km of 2D and 18,400 sq km of 3D seismic data. Thanks to Searcher’s proprietary post-stack rectification workflow, this data serves as a high-precision, trustable mapping tool that can be utilised to bolster ambitious, measured-risk exploration in shallow and deep waters.
Searcher has optimised the seismic data, rectifying its navigation, metadata, amplitude, phase, and timing, thus delivering a smooth dataset compatible with any interpretation software. It includes a total of 19 2D seismic surveys and 21 3D seismic surveys, culminating in a cohesive regional grid that ties to a multitude of wells, discoveries, and prospects. Even with its substantiated oil plays and promising basins, Offshore Peru retains a certain allure of mystery, largely unexplored outside the current hydrocarbon fields within the Tumbes-Progreso and Talara extensional basins. Multiple exciting undrilled structures are now visible in the Trujillo, Salaverry, Lima, Pisco, and Mollendo Basin, thanks to the recent rectification of legacy seismic data.
Complementing the seismic package, the Offshore Peru Well Data Package and Well Atlas encapsulates information from over 300 exploration and appraisal wells across Peru’s five offshore basins. This package acts as a crucial post-drilling analytic resource, with 43 conditioned key exploration wells and boasts a Well Atlas for 27 wells.
Each well undergoes rigorous analysis, investigating crucial petroleum system components such as the efficiency and existence of seals, reservoirs, and charge. Key horizons are mapped utilising Searcher’s rectified seismic data, facilitating detailed post-drill structural interpretation. Our intricate risk assessment delivers a location map, structure map and composite log displays, showcasing conditioned well logs at reservoir level. The Well Atlas collates extensive well outcomes, documenting dry hole failures and chronicling test and production results for successful wells.
