Orange Basin 3D Seismic Survey

Phase Five - Navel

Extending the Venus and Graff Plays into South Africa

The Orange Basin extends across the coasts of both Namibia and South Africa, capturing significant interest due to its high exploration potential. Building on the successful completion of the first four phases in Namibian waters, Phase 5 marks our inaugural venture into the South African Orange Basin.

This impressive survey encompasses over 9,000 square kilometers of multi-client 3D seismic data adjacent to the Namibian border. It includes the extension of the Venus basin floor fan and onlap play, as well as slope Graff-style channel analogues. Utilising multi-component streamers for de-ghosting, this survey provides an exceptional dataset for extending the Venus and Graff plays from Namibia into South Africa.
