Nanamarope 3D Seismic Survey

Advancing Exploration in the Offshore Gulf of Papua

Searcher, in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum and Energy (DPE) and Larus Energy, has acquired the Nanamarope MC3D Survey, spanning approximately 1,850 km2 across the offshore Gulf of Papua, with the objectives of evaluating and de-risking several prospective plays within the Mesozoic and Tertiary sedimentary sequences, and to resolve subsurface velocity contrasts.

The 3D survey, processed by EIF Geosolutions, utilises a robust processing workflow including extensive Q tomography and Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) to address the objectives, with the final survey proving pivotal in improving geological understanding of the sparsely explored area and de-risking the identified prospects.
