The Exmouth West Non-Exclusive 2D Seismic Survey consists of new acquired 2D seismic data and comprises of ~4,300 km.
The 2D seismic survey was undertaken in order to offer the industry a higher density and more technologically advanced seismic grid than previously available, over a portion of the Carnarvon Basin.
The Exmouth West Non-Exclusive 2D Seismic Survey was designed to infill and complement the Exmouth West 2D PSTM Non-Exclusive Reprocessing Project.
The survey area is located in the deep water portion of the Northern Carnarvon Basin, a region which has been one of Australia’s premier are for petroleum exploration.
Giant gas discoveries such as Scarborough, Janz and more recently Pluto, Clio and Thebe confirm the high hydrocarbon prospectivity of the region.
