Searcher commences Browse Ultracube PSTM Reprocessing
20 Jan 2012
Searcher Seismic in conjunction with project partner Fugro Multiclient Services (FMCS) is pleased to announce that the Browse UltracubeTM 3D reprocessing project has commenced.
Following the success of the Barrow UltracubeTM, the Browse UltracubeTM comprises approximately 13,000km2 and 3 individual surveys of varying vintages to create a single fully pre-stack time migrations (PSTM) volume. Contiguous volume interpretation on a basin wide scale will provide the foundation of future exploration in the Browse.
Reprocessing will be done by Fugro Seismic Imaging (FSI) who is at the forefront of multi vintage 2D reprocessing. The seismic data provides a consistent 3D dataset which has the potential to further understand the regional stratigraphic and structural interpretation of the Browse Basin.
The Browse Basin has received intensive exploration in recent years, after a sporadic exploration history. Several large gas fields (>5TCF) have been discovered within the basin which are currently being commercialised. The outboard potential of this basin has now also been successfully tested.
A full suite of additional products are available and allows further work such as depth processing, AVO studies, and inversion.
